Jim Knudson was born and raised and currently resides on a farm north of Florence in Day County, with his wife of over 20 years, Cheryl and daughter, Taylor and son Will. Jim graduated from Florence High School and Lake Area Vo-Tech. After a few years in the grain elevator industry he started in the insurance business in 1992. Jim has experience in all areas of property and casualty insurance, especially commercial agriculture, farms and contractors. He believes insurance education is very important, as he attends continuing education seminars each year to maintain Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
In Jim’s free time he spends it following his children’s activities, hunting, camping, family vacations and working on the farm. He is a life-long member of the New Helgen Lutheran Church serving on numerous boards, and a board member of the Helgen Cemetery.
Amy is married to Chad and they have two boys, Cody and Hudson. Amy moved to Watertown in 1996 and worked for a locally owned manufacturing plant as a Sales Coordinator and in 2005 began her career with Puthoff Insurance. Amy obtained her CISR designation in 2010 and in 2018 earned the CISR Elite designation.
Amy bowled for several years and served as the Women’s Bowling Association President for 6 years. She was actively involved with the Watertown Youth Soccer Association assisting with fundraising and managing the concessions stand.
In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and helping raise money for local non-profit groups / organizations through the Change for a Charity events.
Amy started at Puthoff Insurance in March 2013. Prior to that, she was in banking for 10 years. Amy has been involved in many community events including the Relay for Life, Meals on Wheels and the Alzheimer’s Walk.
Amy grew up in South Shore and moved to Watertown in 1997. Amy and her husband, Jeff, have three children; Hunter, Morgan and Cole. With her children being involved in sports year-round and her husband volunteering to coach many of their teams, Amy spends a lot of time in a gym or on a field. Amy’s hobbies include exercising, crafting and reading.
Rich became an insurance agent in 1984. He worked for a direct writer for a few years and then for a bank owned agency prior to starting Puthoff Insurance Agency in 1995. Rich grew up in Humboldt, SD and has lived in Watertown since 1984. He served on many boards and committees both in the community and church.
Rich enjoys hunting and working with hunting dogs. He and his wife, Bonnie have two married children, Nancy & Bill Paasch and Beth & Travis Alvine, and four grandchildren, Zachery, Cody, Lucas, and Emma.
Dave was born in Humboldt, SD and graduated from West Central High School in 1980. He has lived in Hartford since 1984 with his wife, Kim, where they raised two daughters, Amy and Sara, and live with their dog, Mya. Dave has two grandchildren, Callen and Myka.
Dave has been selling insurance in the Hartford area since 2000 and prior to that worked for 20 years at the John Deere Dealership in Humboldt, SD in the parts department and sales.
He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is on St George Parish Cemetery committee and served 4 years on the Hartford Town Board and officiated High school basketball for 25 years
Dave enjoys being with family as well as hunting and fishing.
Mary is married to Robert, a self employed farmer. They have four married daughters, Brenda & Tad Enck, Bonnie & Henry Wipf, Jennifer & Chip Carda, Becky & Denver Albrecht, and 12 grandchildren. Mary is a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church and volunteers for Meals on Wheels.
Her hobbies include shopping, sewing and yard work and she LOVES spending time will all ten of her grandchildren.
Miranda and her husband Jacob, a self-employed farmer, reside on a farm North of Fulton, SD. Miranda grew up and attended school in Howard, SD. She then attended South Dakota State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business in 2014.
In June 2017, Miranda started working for Puthoff Insurance. Prior to that she worked at the Miner County SDSU 4-H Extension Office, Miner County Community Health Nurse Office, and was a Field Representative for Samson, LLC out of Columbus, NE.
Miranda spends most of her free time helping out on the family farm. Her hobbies include baking, exercising, horseback riding, and spending time with her family and friends.
